Pros and cons of the new commenting system Facebook

Facebook has launched a new set of comments to blogs or webs. TechCrunch has tested on its website and has sparked a debate about the pros and cons of this option.

“The main benefit is social virality” he says in his post. ”Commenting on TechCrunch, his comment also appears in the flow of Facebook with a link to the entry. It would be better if the link was the comment in place of the post, but is a feature that can be added. ”

Here are some of his notes in this regard:

Pros

  • The real names and identities greatly reduce the number of trolls in the comments.
  • Social-viral traffic increases by creating a feedback loop between Facebook and the participating sites.
  • The automatic sign up for Facebook lowers barriers to comment on your website.
  • The comments more ‘me like’ are positioned on the top, giving them greater visibility.

Cons

  • No support for Twitter or Google ID, which leaves out the other half of the social web.
  • There’s no backups. That will make it difficult for sites to stop using them.
  • They have problems in places where they block Facebook.
  • Your friends will be surprised to find out the comments left on your wall reproduced anywhere else
